New: you can learn to walk, from Bashir Abdi

There is a new program for everyone who runs and has a name that counts. In the Everyone Bashir campaign, which Nieuwsblad is launching, marathon runner and medalist Bashir Abdi becomes your ultimate challenger, whether you are a beginner or an expert.

With this sporting initiative, we at Nieuwsblad promise three things. First: a series of tips and tricks from Bashir Abdi himself, which you will discover for free in videos on Nieuwsblad’s social media and in our app, and in a three-part special of our podcast De Insider.

Secondly, we provide a helping hand with training, in the form of training schedules that have been developed for different distances by Gary Lough, the trainer of Bashir Abdi and Mo Farah. Consult them in our app, or perhaps even better: you can download them, print them and hang them somewhere on your wall as motivation.

Last but not least, week after week we give you insights and knowledge about what a sport like running can do for you and your body, and what you can also do for your sporting health. Sports doctor Petra Bruggeman: “Weighing ten kilograms too much is no obstacle to walking. Start at your own pace, don’t rush too fast.” (ed)
