New York will start paying $ 300 more for unemployment insurance – Telemundo New York (47)

The state of New York will begin to pay the additional $ 300 from unemployment insurance, a fund administered by FEMA and provided through the executive order issued by President Trump on August 8, starting next week.

The program will be retroactive to early August, the Labor Department detailed.

About 2 million New Yorkers will receive the aid, authorities said. Around 435,000 residents must submit an additional certification to obtain payment.

Those who qualify will receive emails, said Department of Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon.

“All New Yorkers should be on the lookout for these messages and, if additional certification is required, respond immediately,” Reardon said.

Those who need additional certification can submit the documents online or by phone starting Friday. These New Yorkers will receive an email from DOL DocuSign with a link to the certification. They can also call 833-491-0632 to certify through an automated phone system.
