New York University will honor Swift with an honorary doctorate in May. The singer will also give a speech for the graduates.

Taylor Swift (32) receives an honorary doctorate in fine arts. New York University (NYU) will award the musician an honorary doctorate on May 18. This works out from a message from the university on Monday (March 28). Swift will also address the 2022 Graduates and guests at the graduation ceremony at Yankee Stadium.

“Taylor Swift is one of the most prolific and celebrated artists of her generation,” the singer said in the announcement. “She is the only artist in history to have won the music industry’s top honor, the Grammy for ‘Album of the Year’ three times. Swift has won many other awards and “is the only solo artist of this century to win three albums reached number one in one year”.
The university had previously honored the singer with her own lecture. At the Clive Davis Institute, which is part of New York University, students were able to learn more about the singer in the course from early 2022. As the course description states, “Students will develop an understanding of Taylor Swift as a creative music entrepreneur; they will learn how her creativity and songwriting have given her a lasting presence in a rapidly evolving music industry.”
