The megalopolis of New York is at the heart of a global epidemic. In the United States, already 1,000 deaths are linked to the new coronavirus, which makes the country the third most affected, after China, its first focus, and Italy, the most affected state, with more than 60 000 cases identified, Thursday March 26. All eyes are already on New York City, where a very large number of cases is concentrated, more than half. The largest metropolitan area in the United States has therefore become the epicenter of Covid-19.
“We are all terrified. We feel obligated to take care of our patients, it is perfectly normal, but we are afraid of falling ill”, explains a nurse. Faced with this explosion in the number of patients, the state authorities have sounded a cry of alarm, while the peak of the epidemic must arrive in two weeks and that the ventilators could quickly run out.
