New York Red Bulls Player Accused of Making Racist Remarks During Match Against San Jose Earthquakes

Transferred this winter to the side of the New York Red Bulls, Dante Vanzeir knows a relatively difficult adaptation: with only a small goal in six appearances, the Belgian starts his American adventure rather slowly.

This morning, his New York club published a press release which risks making his passage across the Atlantic even more difficult. Indeed, Dante Vanzeir would have made racist remarks against a player of the Earthquakes of San José, last night, during the match between the two teams.

The game against San Jose Earthquakes was interrupted in the 54th minute, lasting 20 minutes, following an incident between a New York player, who appears to be Dante Vanzeir, and Jeremy Ebobisse. The former Union player is accused of making racist remarks, according to Ebobnisse, causing a scuffle between the teams’ players.

In the press release, we can read that information has been sent to the club concerning racist remarks made by one of the players. “The club takes this very seriously. We will cooperate with the League in the investigation. The New York Red Bulls do not condone any form of discrimination or harassment,” they wrote.

An investigation is therefore open, and we should know very quickly what is going on. After the punch against Charleroi, the Red Devil could still be talked about in the wrong way…
