New York Knicks | Randle fined $ 25,000 for using foul language

(New York) New York Knicks star Julius Randle was fined US $ 25,000 on Saturday for what the NBA called “shocking” use of foul language in interviews.

The NBA cited Randle’s use of profanity in media interviews following practice on Jan.5 and the following day after a victory over the Boston Celtics.

The fine comes after the NBA sent a note to teams last month insisting that coaches and players use appropriate language during press conferences or media interviews.

Randle gave a thumbs-down sign to fans inside Madison Square Garden during the game against the Celtics. The Knicks trailed 25 points before coming back up the hill and winning. Randle used profanity when discussing his gesture after the encounter.

Randle explained his actions in a post to his Instagram account on Friday, acknowledging he should have handled things differently.
