“ABCv”: it’s the vegetarian table of #jeangeorgesvongerichten, not far from Union Square and also Flatiron. The decor in white tones, the multiple counters near the window and facing the kitchen, the tables without tablecloths give the idea of a simple and uninhibited place.

The cuisine is serious, featuring organic vegetables, fresh salads and well-measured spices, creating unusual and happy combinations. California dates with coconut yogurt and tahini, crunchy sea salt, lemon, pistachio, mint and Sicilian olive oil, hummus mixed with peas and chickpeas and seasoned with black pepper, mint, wholemeal pita and raw vegetables or again lettuce and avocado with toasted cumin, lemon and sprinkles are the work of an artist.

We add the rich cherry chocolate cake which evokes the black forest – Jeangeorges is not Alsatian for nothing! – for the nice choice of wines by the glass including a pinot noir from Santa Barbara County in California which is a great drink. Long live jgv veggie version!
