New York Giants split from head coach Joe Judge

The New York Giants have split up with head coach Joe Judge. The franchise announced on Tuesday.

The 40-year-old has to leave New York after two seasons. His sobering record: ten wins and 23 defeats. Only Judge’s predecessor Pat Shurmur had a worse record in the modern history of the NFL club (9-23).

The Giants had missed the playoffs again after a disappointing season (4-13). It’s the fourth coach layoff in the NFL in no time.

On the so-called “Black Monday” the Minnesota Vikings from Mike Zimmer and the Chicago Bears from Matt Nagy had already split up. The Denver Broncos also fired Vic Fangio on Sunday.

Most recently, General Manager Dave Gettleman resigned his hat to the Giants after four years. He too would have been threatened with dismissal.

“It was a privilege to serve the franchise for the last four years. We obviously did not have the success on the course that I expected. That is very disappointing,” he said in his farewell statement.
