The Giants announced their decision late Tuesday afternoon, ending rumors that circulated briefly that suggested the owners were going to hire a GM and let him decide Judge’s fate.

Judge was 10-23 in two seasons at the helm, including 4-13 in 2021. The team ended the season with six straight losses.

Co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch have said it’s best to take a new avenue after five straight seasons where the Giants have lost at least ten games.

Since winning the Super Bowl in February 2012, the Giants have made the playoffs only once. Over the past six seasons, they’ve brought in four head coaches, starting with Ben McAdoo in 2016, Steve Spagnulo on an acting basis, Pat Shurmur in 2018 and Judge, hired in 2020.

Mara says she met Judge on Monday and again on Tuesday. He informed him of his decision during the second meeting.
