In upstate New York, New driving license applicants can take the written test online, the first test needed to complete the process. This knowledge test is used to determine how well prepared the applicant is to put into practice the laws and basic driving concepts. How to take the online DMV driving test in New York?

2. Click the “Start Permission Request” button below to log in to ID NY.gov or create an account.
3. Provide the personal information that the system requires.
4. Confirm the type of permission you want to process.
5. Identify the supporting documents (identification) that will be used in the process and the necessary forms.
6. Upload documents, for example Attach scanned or photographic images of them.
7. Review e confirm the request.
8. Start the written exam within 5 minutes after the selection of the option “I’m ready to take the test”.
To submit proof, applicants only need to have a smart device such as a phone, tablet or PC. In any case, it must have a front camera. On average, this test takes 30-40 minutes and during this time the DMV will confirm the applicant’s identity through the device’s camera. When the exam is not approved, the system allows you to take it again, 6 hours after the previous opportunity.
