They are often represented at sporting events in the region and notably at the Halle Polyvalente during Istres Provence handball matches. The “Pompoms Staps Marseille”, representing the University of Aix Marseille, have just won the title of world university champion in the cheerleading category. A title won during the 7th WIUC, “World InterUniversities Championships”, organized from 9 to 13 November in Barcelona
Football, handball, volleyball, tennis, badminton, swimming, etc. events were also held during this university world championship. A total of 64 universities from 26 countries were represented, or 3,000 students in attendance.
