New York Deploys National Guard to Control Immigrant Arrival Surge

Governor Kathy Hochul issued an executive order on Tuesday to mobilize an additional 500 members to provide logistical and operational support at the shelters and the bus station where immigrants are arriving.

Total, there will be 1,500 members of the Guard supporting the control of immigrants.

“With Title 42 set to expire, circumstances are expected to change significantly and this Executive Order will be an important part of our coordinated response,” he said.
