A near-death prisoner confesses to a priest that he murdered three people sixteen years earlier. Torn between the desire to exonerate another man unjustly condemned for this triple murder and respect for professional secrecy, the priest decides to distill some information to Logan who must try to put the pieces of the puzzle together. For his part, Wheeler is surprised to discover that mysterious individuals are spinning her and her fiancée Colin. Shortly after starting to dig, Logan realizes that he will still have to confront the District Attorney Driver whose last meeting had produced sparks. Disgusted by the behavior of the system, it does not hesitate to throw itself into the battle even if it means burying his career. As the investigation progresses, the two inspectors run into an impasse. Indeed, an elusive character seems to be at the center of the tragedy they are meant to unravel.
