New York City’s $43 Million Plan Supports Gender Equity and Inclusion

The City of New York presented the plan ‘Women of NYC Adelante‘which consists of an investment of more than $43 million destined to make the Big Applea national leader in gender equity, which includes transgender and gender expansive people.

This is an approach to address long-standing disparities, such as economic mobility and comprehensive services so that the female population has an easier time accessing stable housing, medical care and reducing violence.

The municipal government will take this step with public and private partnerships, academic institutions and federal grants. This action plan addresses gender disparities by connecting women to professional development and jobs better paid.

Women of NYC Forward’ adds new mental health program administered by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) for pre- and postnatal women in neighborhoods with high maternal and infant mortality rates.

Additionally, more funding will be provided for the Abortion Access Center hotline with medications in the New York City Sexual Health Clinics.

“When we center health, educational and economic opportunities for women, we are doing the right and just thing, while defending the health of women.” our children, families and our communities.
