New York: artist names subway station after Meryl Streep

On her 72nd birthday, Hollywood actress Meryl Streep was surprised with an unusual gift: street artist Adrian Wilson unceremoniously renamed the New York subway station 72 Street to “72 Streep”.

On Tuesday (local time), the artist shared pictures of the subway signs on Instagram on which he had pasted the “t” with a “p”. On the other hand, a photo with a street sign reading “72 Streep” is only a simulation with an image processing program. “The guy with the elevator let me down,” wrote the artist. Without a lifting platform, he could not have implemented the project.

Meryl Streep is one of the most successful actresses in the world. She was nominated for an Oscar 21 times in her long career and won it three times. The actress herself is not on Instagram and did not initially comment on the action. In the past, Wilson had dedicated his own underground works of art to Aretha Franklin, Prince and Joe Biden.
