On the 9th, the 7th day of the opening of the ‘2023 Jinju Asian Weightlifting Championships’, the city of Jinju, Gyeongnam, announced on the 10th that two new world records were set in the women’s 71kg class.

China’s Liao Guifang, who competed in the women’s 71kg class on the day, lifted 120kg and 148kg for snatch and 268kg total, achieving a new world record for both snatch and total.

Liao, who easily succeeded in lifting 110kg and 115kg in the first and second periods, set a new world record in the third period by successfully lifting 120kg, which is 1kg heavier than the previous world record of 119kg.

In the subsequent sweep, he lifted 140kg in the first period, followed by 148kg in the second period, and also broke the previous world record of 267kg by 1kg in total. I abstained from the 3rd period.

Meanwhile, the competition will run until the 13th.
