Jos B. was recently heard about this again by the police. B. has already made it known “never to have discussed the substance of the case with anyone whatsoever, not even with the witness”.

At the end of June, E. was sentenced to twenty years in prison and TBS with compulsory treatment for shooting the Rotterdam student Hümeyra.

First session without Peter R. de Vries

The appeal against Jos B. continues for the first time without Peter R. de Vries in the room. His son Royce is present at an interim session today to support the parents of the murdered Nicky Verstappen.

The Den Bosch court also considered the death of Peter R. de Vries on Friday morning at the start of the case about the death of Nicky Verstappen. De Vries was spokesperson, confidant and friend of the 11-year-old boy’s family. Son Royce de Vries went to the hearing with the Verstappen family on Friday.

shocked

“The court is shocked by the death of Peter R. de Vries. We wish the Verstappen family and his son a lot of strength,” said the chairman.

De Vries was present every day of the hearing, both at the Maastricht court and at the court, in the case surrounding the death of 11-year-old Nicky in 1998. Thanks in part to the continuous attention of the crime reporter, the case has always remained topical.

Summer camp

Nicky Verstappen from Heibloem was found dead in the summer of 1998 on the Brunssummerheide in Limburg. He was there at summer camp. Decades later, after a DNA match, suspect Jos B. came into the picture. The Limburger was sentenced last year by the court in Maastricht to 12.5 years in prison for, among other things, the killing, abuse and kidnapping of Nicky.

Immediately after the verdict, 58-year-old B. announced that he would appeal, he denies all accusations. The Public Prosecution Service, which had demanded fifteen years in prison and TBS with compulsory treatment, also filed an appeal.
