A new version of the 1996 horror movie is being made Scream, which became worldwide success. According to Variety Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, previously the horror film Ready or Not directing the remake.
The movie is produced by Spyglass Entertainment. The company was founded a year ago by, among others, the owners of Lantern Entertainment.
This company took the rights of the Screamseries about after production company The Weinstein Company went bankrupt in 2018. This happened after allegations against Harvey Weinstein. By taking over the rights, Spyglass Entertainment now has the option to remake Scream to make.
Scream revolves around a group of high school students who are threatened by a serial killer. Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette, among others, had roles in the horror film. Three more sequels were then made. These films were released in 1997, 2000 and 2011.
