Together with her ex Pierre (Albert Dupontel) and her new boyfriend Marcus (Vincent Cassel), Alex (Monica Bellucci) goes to a party where the trio gets lost in alcohol and drugs, until they finally have an argument between the lovers Alex and Marcus – whereupon Alex decides to go home alone. A momentous decision.

Because on the way home at night, she comes across the pimp Le Tenja (Jo Prestia) in an underpass, who molests her and finally rapes her. When Marcus and Pierre find out about it, they go in search of the culprit … and find what they are looking for.
A shocker told upside down
“Irreversible” is a punch in the pit of your stomach – but has also risen to become a controversially discussed cult film due to its unusual narrative structure. Because Gaspar Noé (“Enter The Void”, “Climax”), whose new film “Lux Æterna” will soon be premiering at home, tells the story backwards – from the end to the beginning, so to speak.

In 2019, however, the Argentine-French scandal director put his hand on his film again, reversed the order of the scenes and finally published the “Irreversible Straight Cut”, in which the story runs chronologically – and that no longer for us as a nice addition to the irreplaceable original.
The double pack with both versions has been available on DVD and Blu-ray since December – although the first limited HD edition is already sold out. The new Blu-ray version will follow on April 8th.

„Little Monsters“ – “‘Kindergarten Cop’ with zombies and rubbish” with Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o (“We”), but unfortunately a rather dispensable contribution in the undead comedy genre – there is better, also at Prime (2 stars)
