New standards: Igor Levit’s Beethoven cycle in Salzburg

The pianist Igor Levit sets new standards in Salzburg. That is already clear after the first evening of the eight-part Beethoven cycle in the Haus für Mozart. Levit opened the century cycle with Beethoven’s first contribution to the genre, the Sonata for Piano No. 1 in F minor, Op. 2/1.
