Ricky Gervais has signed a multi-year deal with Netflix. This deal includes a new season of After Life that the actor and comedian can make, reports Variety Wednesday.
The news follows less than a week after the second season of After Life can be seen on Netflix.
Gervais will produce new series for the streaming service and also make stand-up comedy.
In After Life plays Gervais Tony, who has a perfect life until his wife Lisa dies suddenly. Her death changes his life and ensures that from that moment on Tony says and does everything he wants. That feels like a superpower to him, but it turns out to be difficult to sustain if everyone tries to ‘save’ him.
It is not the first time that Gervais has starred in a self-produced series. He previously starred in the comic drama The stretch, which came out in 2015.
