New parking lots were built along Bárátság – Dunakanyar Region

Recently, 20 new parking lots were built in Dunakesz along the Friendship road. There was a great demand for these, as the residents of the housing estate stopped their cars on the green space in several places. Although they cannot fully satisfy all needs, József Seltenreich, the municipal representative of the district, is working hard to build even more parking lots. In addition, the representative is thinking about a complete renovation of the area, such as the service road, renewal of green surfaces, beautification of the playground and making traffic safer.

At the moment, they were able to create 20 parking spaces, but when the entire project is completed, he hopes that there will be progress in terms of disabled parking spaces as well, said the representative. When creating the parking spaces, they took care of the green surfaces and built only those areas that were already used for this purpose, or that did not have a green surface.

The representative said that a new park similar to the Kőrösi park will be built in the area, but the construction of the parking lot and the design of the park will be handled in a complex manner. The first step of the project was the construction of the parking lots, followed by the renovation of the service road.

This work begins in the spring with the cultural placement of garbage containers. This is followed by road renovation and painting of the pedestrian lane, similarly to the other side, which was already done at the beginning of the Friendship Road in the past period. József Seltenreich emphasized: he would like the green area to be repaired, as it was damaged in many places due to previous works. Among the ideas is also the renovation of the small playground at the end of Friendship Road. They are also planning changes to the traffic in the area, as on the other side, the roads would also become one-way, which would mean greater safety.

We respond to real public needs

When asked whether there are plans to build parking lots elsewhere in the Barátság út housing estate, especially close to the houses, József Seltenreich said that they are constantly looking at where parking lots can be built so that the green space is not sacrificed. It is also conceivable that renovations will be carried out on the parking lots, which may lead to expansion. – During our work, we focus on solving the problem in response to the real needs of the population – declared the municipal representative.

Among the goals of the near future is the planning of the traffic order near the Kőrö school, where new and cultured parking spaces will also be created. Here, they want to make progress not only in terms of parking, but also in terms of traffic safety, especially for children traveling to and from school.

The representative was not yet able to give a concrete answer to the question of what and how long closures can be expected in connection with the planned works, but he thanks the patience of the people living here, since there was already a lot of work going on in the past period, which required them to be patient.
