“New Package of Sanctions: EU Targets 90 Companies Bypassing Russia Sanctions”

“And that is why in the eleventh package of sanctions we have more than 90 companies around the world, in respect of which we have clear evidence that they violate sanctions, that is, they supply sanctioned goods directly to Russia from the European Union, bypassing through third countries,” she stressed.

According to her, some of these companies, which will fall under the ban, are registered in China.

“This does not mean that they have to be Chinese companies. They are companies that exist partly on paper and have owners originating from other countries. But they are registered in China, and here we will be clear,” added von der Leyen.

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak also commented on the new package of sanctions against the Russian Federation.

“The decision of the European Union to impose sanctions against more than 90 non-Russian companies that helped Russia bypass sanctions can only be welcomed. There will always be attempts by the enemy to circumvent sanctions, but the punishment for helping them do this should be severe,” he said.

What is known about the 11 package of sanctions

Recall that the EU is currently working on the 11 package of sanctions against Russia, against the backdrop of which some countries have resumed pressure against the country’s nuclear industry. Later it became known that the European Union does not yet intend to impose sanctions against the Russian state nuclear company Rosatom.

Also, the 11th package of sanctions may include new special permits for financial transactions and legal services designed to help European companies exit Russia.

As part of the project for the next eleventh round of sanctions, the EU has for the first time proposed a new mechanism with third countries that are considered involved in circumventing sanctions against Russia by helping it import dual-use goods.

During the discussion of the package of sanctions, Hungary demanded that a number of people be excluded from the new sanctions list. Among them – the head of the Belarusian Railways Vladimir Morozov, as well as persons involved in the case of opposition politician from the Russian Federation Vladimir Kara-Murza.
