US researchers: Corona of artificial origin

The origin of Sars-CoV-2 remains mysterious. Former employee of a US research organization who has partnered with a Wuhan lab now says the virus is “man-made”. He escaped from a laboratory in Wuhan due to poor security measures.

In the debate on the origin of Covid-19, a US researcher convinced that Sars-CoV-2 is an “artificial virus” expressed his opinion. What Makes It All Exploding: Researcher named Andrew Huff used to work for an organization that itself had strong ties to a Wuhan lab that is at the center of debate over a possible lab accident as a trigger for the pandemic. reports the British newspaper “The Sun”.

The claims come from Huff’s new book, The Truth About Wuhan, from which the newspaper cites passages. According to this, the US government funded corona virus research in China before the outbreak of the pandemic, which is said to have taken place through the non-governmental organization EcoHealth Alliance. They collaborated with the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Huff himself held senior positions at the EcoHealth Alliance between 2014 and 2016.

Huff reports in his book that the collaboration between his former employer and the Wuhan institute also involved so-called gain-of-function experiments. In such experiments, the transmissibility of a pathogen is artificially increased. Such attempts also led to the development of Sars-CoV-2 in Wuhan, and due to poor security measures, the virus eventually escaped, Huff believes.

No evidence of Labor escape

According to Huff, the organization EcoHealth Alliance is said to have been teaching the Wuhan lab about “the most well-known methods of manipulating bat coronaviruses to infect other species” for years. He also claims that China knew from day one that SARS-CoV-2 was a genetically engineered pathogen. However, Huff provides no evidence for his claim that Sars-CoV-2 was created in a lab in Wuhan.

Shortly after the pandemic began, suspicions arose that the coronavirus research in Wuhan might have something to do with the outbreak of Covid-19. Above all, the suspicion is fueled by the physical proximity of the first cases known to research institutions and the lack of a direct predecessor of Sars-CoV-2. So far, however, there is no concrete evidence of an artificial or natural origin of the virus. The laboratory itself and the Chinese government have always denied involvement in the epidemic.
