Apple held an online conference Wednesday evening to present its new iPad Pro. The very powerful iOS tablet can be accompanied by a brand new, particularly advanced Magic Keyboard.
“Your next computer is not a computer” : Apple’s communication regarding its new iPad Pro leaves little room for doubt about the brand’s ambitions. Unveiled Wednesday, online, this new device under iPadOS, the iOS 13 version dedicated to the brand’s tablets, caused a surprise, when most observers expected the announcement of a new iPhone SE. In the end, a new line of iPad Pro, available in 11 and 12.9 inch versions, was unveiled.
On the program of the different models, an A12Z processor, evolution of the A12X Bionic composed of 8 cores and supplemented by an improved thermal architecture, to avoid overheating. 6 GB of RAM are available. The Neural Engine chip is also still there, which allows the device to speed up calculations and make applications more responsive and fluid, including future professional apps, always more demanding. The photo part consists of a triple rear photo sensor of 12 + 10 megapixels with integrated wide-angle and ultra-wide angle, but also a Time of Flight (ToF) sensor for using augmented reality services with ever more precision. A secondary 7 megapixel TrueDepth sensor is included for video calls, and for optimal sound quality, this new iPad Pro incorporates no less than five microphones and four speakers.

First dedicated to professionals, the new iPad Pro can run all the most demanding applications in the Apple App Store, including the video games found there. To bring your tablet even closer to your laptop, the Cupertino company releases at the same time a new model of Magic Keyboard, an accessory which combines protective case and keyboard. A new trackpad is integrated, allowing efficient replacement of a mouse. The keys of the keyboard operate using a scissor mechanism and have a stroke limited to 1 millimeter.

If Apple presents this tablet as an alternative to the PC, the prices charged may however dissuade. The 11-inch model starts at 899 euros for its 128 GB version, and the 12.9 inch version at 1119 euros, with the same storage capacity. The 1 TB version of the 11-inch iPad Pro is 1,619 euros and 1,839 euros for the 12.9-inch iPad. Finally, on the Magic Keyboard side, it costs 339 euros for an 11-inch version, and 399 euros for a 12.9-inch version. What increase the note significantly.
