Al-Sharqiya Health Caucus announced the launch of a home health care service for postpartum “natural and cesarean section” and operations related to gynecological diseases.
The service is one of the latest services developed in Maternity and Children Hospital in Dammam and Jubail General Hospital.
The service aims to provide health and psychological support to the mother by following up on the mother’s health condition at home, performing the necessary medical examinations, dressing wounds for caesarean section or surgical operations related to gynecological diseases, following up the extent of wound healing, observing symptoms of infection or postpartum infections, and educating the mother with the necessary instructions to avoid infections, discovery Early detection of blood clots, providing appropriate health education, and general instructions on breastfeeding.
The service is provided through a qualified medical team for services after natural or cesarean delivery and operations related to gynecological diseases by visiting them at home within a period of (4-7) days after discharge from the hospital, with a total rate ranging between (3-4) actual and virtual visits.
The service is obtained by referring the patient through the attending physician to the home health care department, and then they are contacted by the program coordinator and the date of the visit is set.
The number of beneficiaries of the service has reached more than 450, and the Eastern Health Cluster seeks to expand the scope of service in many other hospitals by the end of the current year 2023 AD, such as Abqaiq General Hospital, Qatif Central Hospital, Al-Khafji General Hospital, and Ras Tanura General Hospital.
