New head of Immunizations of the Minsa ruled out that there is a shortage of vaccines for minors

The new director of Immunizations the Ministry of HealthMaría Elena Martínez, ruled out that there is a deficit of the vaccines against COVID-19 for minors, as some regions had reported.

“What happened was that since the arrival of the pediatric vaccine had not arrived, it had been indicated that the second doses be placed to gradually achieve that coverage. However, we have already had the arrival of the vaccine and, as you know, it will immediately to the regions,” he told RPP News.

“The indication that has been given to the regions is: the stock they have can continue to be used because they already have an additional one so that the vaccination process is not paralyzed,” he added.

He specified that the new batch of 780 thousand doses arrived last night and today they have been distributed to the regions. “There is no problem of vaccine shortages,” she asserted.

“We continue with this vaccination plan. What we are doing is strengthening and intensifying vaccination, creating strategies for the population to go to vaccination points,” he said.

the boss of Immunizations He also pointed out that “in no way” do they plan to cancel the continuous inoculation days baptized as ‘Vaccinations’ that “have given favorable results”.

He clarified that what they will do now is to combine strategies, that is, reduce the brigades present at the vaccinations to allocate these personnel to immunize in areas with a low immunization rate in Lima and Callao.

“We call it the mixed strategy. At the fixed point of the vaccination there were ten brigades, today we are placing five, not for lack of resources, but rather we are looking for the brigades to be able to leave, and we have already identified Lima and Callao which are the districts that are most at risk: San Juan de Lurigancho, Carabayllo, Villa María del Triunfo, Ate and Ventanilla.

He said that the brigades will begin to visit these points starting tomorrow at 8 am
