The fight against Corona cost billions. Now, for the first time, the federal government has given the total expenditure for corona vaccines so far – and what all the measures cost together.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the government has spent around 6.8 billion euros on Covid 19 vaccines, reports the “RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland” (RND/Sunday), citing a parliamentary question from the CSU health politician Stephan Pilsinger (CSU).
Together with the vaccine costs, it is possible to quantify the overall expenditure on healthcare caused by the pandemic.
According to the Federal Social Security Office, a total of 46.4 billion euros was spent by the end of June for the reimbursement of vaccinations, vaccination centers, citizen and PCR tests, protective masks, compensation payments for hospitals and corona drugs.
Together with the vaccines, the total is 53.2 billion euros.
