New Features in Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22631.1906: Clock Hiding, Network Diagnostics, and More

Microsoft introduced a few more new features in the Beta channel in Windows 11 Insider Preview build 22631.1906. It is almost certain that this development branch represents the upcoming autumn release of the operating system. In Jedenátky, the hours could not be hidden yet. There were hints from early March that this was about to change, and now it’s official.

You previously hid the clock with Win11ClockToggler, but it doesn’t work since Moment 2. The author claims that he has not found a way to achieve the desired action. Visually, it was redesigned in the style of Windows 11 firewall dialog (Windows Security) that asks to allow network traffic for a specific program. This change was also recently demonstrated in the Dev channel. A lot of small improvements are related to Settings, most of them are related to networks.

The firewall dialog matches the style of Windows 11

In the section Settings | Network and Internet | Advanced network settings you will find a link for advanced network adapter configuration. Which means it leads to an observant environment. The Advanced Adapter Management link leads to that legacy environment

In the appropriate section for managing wireless devices, you will find the command again to connect to the PAN network (Bluetooth Personal Area). Now you can see the saved Wi-Fi password in Settings

If you choose uninstall in the context menu of the classic program (Win32) in the Start menu, the system will redirect you to Settings. Microsoft tried this earlier in the Windows 10 era, but the behavior change failed, so Windows 11 still sent you to the Control Panel in such cases.

If you have a circular peripheral such as the Surface Dial connected to your computer, you can see a special section in Settings for managing such a device. Microsoft has tweaked it visually to better match Eleven’s design style.
