The young man overtook another car on Wiesenhofstrasse after the level crossing. In the process, he lost control of his vehicle, as the Winterthur city police announced on Monday. Property damage occurred to the car.
The new driver had endangered himself, his passengers and a group of pedestrians with his behavior, the police said. The 19-year-old had to hand in his driver’s license on the spot. His car was confiscated for the purpose of securing evidence.
