Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Egyptian Armed Forces spokesperson revealed new details about two incidents of a drone crash in Taba and two strange objects in Nuweiba, while the Israeli army showed a video of an interception operation over the Red Sea.
The Egyptian army spokesman said in a post on his Facebook page: “Within the framework of following up on the results of the ongoing investigations by the competent committee into the two accidents of a foreign object falling in Nuweiba and a piloted drone in Taba… and by analyzing and gathering information, the results of the investigations revealed that there were (2) piloted drones.” It was heading from the south of the Red Sea to the north, and one of them was targeted outside Egyptian airspace in the Gulf of Aqaba region, resulting in some of its debris falling in an uninhabited area in Nuweiba… in addition to the other falling in Taba.”
He continued: “The Air Force and Air Defense Forces are intensifying their efforts to secure Egyptian airspace on all strategic directions of the country.”
For his part, the Israeli army spokesman for the Arab media, Avichay Adraee, published a video clip on his page on the In the region, these targets did not pose any threat to citizens, as Israeli sovereignty was not violated.”
