GRONINGEN – On Thursday 25 June, the signatures were placed under the construction contract for 136 apartments in the city of Groningen.
Pieter Witzenburg signed on behalf of Lefier and Biense Dijkstra signed for Bouwgroep Dijkstra Draisma. The signing has given the go-ahead for the construction of a striking and energy-efficient apartment complex on the corner of Antillenstraat and Korreweg. The 136 apartments are a very welcome addition to the housing market in Groningen. And thanks to the characteristic design of the building, the city gets an impressive eye-catcher.
Biense Dijkstra: “This is a Design & Build project. This means that Bouwgroep Dijkstra Draisma is responsible for the design and construction of the complex. The design was made in collaboration with KAW architects. ”
Striking and distinctive design
The project design is striking and distinctive. It is visible from afar upon entering the city from the north side. The complex will have different heights: there is one high-rise section of twelve floors and a low-rise section of four floors. The dynamic appearance fits in so well with the lower buildings of the new building on the opposite side of the Antillenstraat.
From the living room, residents have a view over the Van Starkenborgh Canal and residential areas. For the houses hang around balconies and this completes the design.
Comfortable and safe living
Pieter Witzenburg: “The expansion at Antillenstraat is this year’s largest new-build project from Lefier. We are very happy that we can now start building this beautiful new complex of size. The 136 apartments will soon offer our tenants a comfortable and sustainable home. ”
The houses are well insulated and gas-free. They are heated by heat pumps and a heat recovery system. Solar panels are placed on the roof to generate energy. The apartments are different in size. There are two and three-room apartments ranging from 50 to 90 square meters. The spacious balconies and large window openings provide extra living quality.
Signed in Dokkum
At the invitation of Dijkstra Draisma, Lefier came to Dokkum for the contract signing. In a suitable location to keep a distance, a festive touch has been given to the joyful fact that construction will start soon.
