Wednesday’s episode of Sweden’s Master Chef was guested by none other than the popular criminology professor Leif GW Persson.
But the pictures of Leif have made viewers worried.
With its 14 seasons, “Sweden’s Master Chef” has qualified as one of TV4’s longest-running shows.
This year’s season kicked off in January 2024 and after making it through the audition and qualifying week, there were finally 12 contestants who made it all the way to the coveted spots in the master chef kitchen.
Since then, twelve has become eight.
During Wednesday’s episode, the main task of the participants was to cook a classic steak Rydberg. The time? Yes, it was endless. But with a small catch, of course.
Before the jury, there was only room for six plates, and the two who didn’t manage to get one of those places went straight to elimination – without the jury even tasting their dishes.
– It sucks! Now they won’t even taste my dish, my first Rydberg is just to waste, said Josefine Freij who was one of those who didn’t manage to snag a seat.
After the main competition, four amateur chefs had to settle in an elimination competition on the theme of wild game, and there was none other than Leif GW Persson as guest judge.
During the episode, the jury repeatedly tries to scare the participants by saying that Leif will be harsh in his judgement. Something that even the participants fear.
– Leif will say exactly what he thinks, and it’s a bit scary, isn’t it. You really want him to like you, they say Josephine Freij in the program.
But he has no interest in seeing amateur chefs, he told that already last autumn when he participated in Nyhetsmorgon.
– No, I don’t like sawing people. Why, that they cook slightly worse food? I think that seems pretentious. Everyone cooked excellent food. The actual sawings had to be handled by the regular judges, GW said when he visited News morning during the fall.
Many viewers have longed for Leif’s entrance into the master chef kitchen. When Nöjeslivet wrote about GW’s disclosure in the autumn, many viewers got in touch with happy cheers.
“I don’t want to miss that. Sweden’s best GW”, one person wrote at the time.
“I can’t miss that,” wrote another.
“Oh so cool”, wrote a third.
“THEN I sit like glued glue in front of the TV,” wrote a fourth.

But after Wednesday’s episode, there are divided opinions about his entrance.
Many viewers loved seeing him in context, but the pictures of Leif have also made many viewers raise their eyebrows.
“I like GW, but in Sweden’s Master Chef I don’t know what he added. Didn’t look like he was doing so well,” writes one person on Nöjeslivet’s Facebook page.
“He looks tired dear GW. He should take it easy, I think,” writes another.
“So tired and bored,” writes a third.
“But how can they have him, seems to be absent,” writes a fourth.
