New application detects corona infection by analyzing the user’s voice

A new application can determine if you have been infected with the Coronavirus simply by analyzing your voice, as researchers at Carnegie Mellon University have developed an AI-powered system that analyzes your voice and provides a degree of potential for infection of the Coronavirus infection, technology captures breathing patterns and other vital signs.-

According to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”, the team urges members of the public, whether healthy or injured, to share their voice record to help improve the algorithm.

The application, called COVID Voice Detector, is still in its infancy, and is not approved by the FDA or CDC, and should not be used as a substitute for a medical test or examination.

There are more than 786,000 global cases, and more than 37,000 reported deaths worldwide from the Corona virus.

As cases continue to rise, there is also a lack of test kits, which is why Carnegie Mellon has developed its new application.

“I’ve seen a lot of competition for the cheapest and fastest diagnostic you can get,” said Benjamin Striner, a Carnegie Mellon graduate student who worked on the project.

He added: “There are some good things that are really cheap and really very accurate, but nothing will be as cheap and easy as speaking on the phone.”

Although the app is still in its development stage, Strenner believes, it may be vital for healthcare professionals once it is released.

The ranking is used from 1 to 10 when analyzing a person’s voice, and the higher the ranking, the more likely an individual will be infected with the Corona virus.

The person also coughs several times when asked to do so, as some voices say and read the alphabet, then the tool presents the final result.
