As the Ukrainian counter-offensive rages in the east of the country, the US intelligence services have made new revelations about the activities attributed to Russia. As a reminder, the United States of America and their allies finance and arm the Ukrainians face Russia accused of invasion, even as Moscow talks about a special operation to defend its territorial integrity. According to US intelligence, at least $ 300 million has been sent from Russia to politicians in more than 20 countries since 2014 with the aim of influencing the elections of these countries. An amount that Uncle Sam’s country could consider lower than the real one, taking into account that other means of transfer were used by the Russians to achieve their goals. The country cites as an example a Russian ambassador to Asia who offered millions of dollars to a presidential candidate without giving further details. The information was reported in the press citing senior US officials.
To achieve its aims, the United States claims that Russia has used cryptocurrencies, luxury gifts and, of course, cash. But this new report does not speak of possible interference in past US elections. For the moment, no official reaction from Russia.
