The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) Offenbach am Main and the Society for Integrated Traffic and Mobility Management Region Frankfurt RheinMain (ivm) have jointly awarded the city of Neu-Isenburg the “Exemplary Mobile” award. It underpins the goal of making mobility in the city environmentally friendly and efficient.

Neu-Isenburg has developed a mobility concept and has committed itself to implementing measures from various fields of action within the next three years in order to achieve the development goals it has set itself.

The offers for employees make the city attractive as an employer. The approaches are also aimed at citizens, such as the annual city cycling or the publication of our own cycle route map.

Previously, the administration went through a process in which the mobility behavior of employees and the infrastructural conditions at various locations were analyzed.

Some measures have already been successfully implemented

An administration working group has developed a comprehensive concept of measures as part of the “Better to Work” advisory program, which is now being implemented by an internal working group. Some measures have already been successfully implemented: a free job ticket has been introduced for employees, they can carry out small repairs in a specially set up workshop, company pedelecs are also available and an electric car is available for business trips.

But there is still enough to do for the next three years: The plan includes, among other things, expanding sharing offers and holding an action day on the topic of mobility and mobility education in daycare centers. In addition, the utilization and equipment of bicycle parking facilities at various external locations should be checked and, if necessary, upgraded and the fleet gradually converted to electric vehicles.

The IHK Offenbach am Main and the ivm enable employers in the city and district of Offenbach to have their commitment to employee mobility assessed using the “Exemplary Mobile” rating. and together with Kreisverkehrsgesellschaft Offenbach mbH and NiO – Nahverkehr in Offenbach GmbH, we offer “Better to Work”, a free program for employers to develop suitable mobility concepts.
