[The Epoch Times, December 02, 2023](Comprehensive report by Epoch Times reporter Ning Haizhong) “Unknown pneumonia” is spreading rapidly in China. At this sensitive time, Chinese media quoted netizens as saying that the “green code” that had been offline for nearly a year in many places in China has reappeared, causing panic. Some netizens also said that in fact, the health code has not been offline, but the trip code has been offline. Officials announced last year that there is a five-year plan for the health code, which has been criticized as being mainly used to monitor people.

The reappearance of “green codes” in many places has caused panic among mainland netizens

According to reports from many Chinese media such as Top News and Dazhong.com, on December 1, some netizens revealed that the “green code” that had been offline for nearly a year had reappeared in Sichuan, Guangdong and other places. Pictures provided by netizens show that Sichuan Tianfu Health Pass and Guangdong Region Yuekang Code both display “green code”, and the real-time time is around 5 pm on December 1.

A reporter from the top mainland media searched the Guangdong government affairs mini program “Guangdong Province Affairs” through the WeChat mini program. The Guangdong Health Code is in the upper left corner of the homepage, but identity verification is required.

The report said that Xiao Feng, a Guangzhou citizen, logged into Guangdong Province and found that the Guangdong Health Code was indeed a “green code.” “You just need to check to see it. It is easy to find when there is no epidemic.” The small programs commonly used by Guangzhou citizens are easy to use. After checking the health code, I found that it could also be found. Xiao Feng said, “It’s amazing. I remember that the health code has been offline.”

According to reports, as early as February 16, 2023, the Guangdong Health Code was offline.

Regarding the reappearance of the green code that had been offline for nearly a year, Top News reporters called the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission and the mayor’s hotline as citizens. Health Commission staff said that the matter was not under their jurisdiction; the mayor’s hotline The staff said that when they checked, they could also see the “green code”. The staff said, “(The epidemic) has passed and everything is fine.”

Some netizens reported in the comment area that health codes in many places have never been offline: “Health codes have not been offline in many cities, so there is no need to over-interpret them. However, recently there have been many people sick with influenza and mycoplasma infections, so everyone should wear them.” Masks, protection first.” “The health code has always existed, but the pass code has been deactivated.”

However, more netizens reported on Weibo that they were panicking about the resurrection of the health code:

“The news said that health codes in many places have been resurrected. I logged in and authenticated with my real name, and the familiar green code came back.”

“Oh my God, when I first saw these three characters, my heart immediately twitched. I don’t want to see this code again, and I have to start again.”

“Beijing Health Treasure Green Code has also resumed display.”

“Guangdong Health Code, I’m going to log in. Well, it’s online. You can see my green code… At the same time, the related applet for the antigen self-test can also be opened…”

“When I saw the health code, I got ptsd. Please don’t do it again. I can’t bear it in every way.”

“It’s been four years, but I didn’t expect that the green code is still there. Didn’t you agree to log off and delete all the data?”

“It’s a code to come back to the world! I’m a little scared! It’s scary to come back after a year of training! You can’t pass this code, right?”

“Help, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, I don’t want to close the school.”

In fact, after mainland China suddenly lifted its lockdown at the end of last year, health codes continued to be used in many places. “Southern Metropolis Daily” reported in March this year that after checking the WeChat and Alipay portals, it was found that most of the health codes in 31 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) across the country (excluding Hong Kong and Macao) can still be used normally.

In July this year, Shanghai upgraded its “Health Code” to a “City Code” and became one of the social governance tools.

On November 10, 2022, the National Health Commission of the Communist Party of China, the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the State Administration of Disease Control and Prevention jointly released the “14th Five-Year Plan for National Health Informatization”, mentioning that by 2025, all members of the mainland will have a “dynamic plan” Managed electronic health records and a fully functional electronic health code.”

Current affairs commentator Hui Huyu told The Epoch Times on November 11 that the CCP has formed a new stability maintenance model in the process of epidemic prevention. The health code is the fastest and most trouble-free way to restrict personal freedom created by high technology, which is equivalent to giving everyone They all wear invisible electronic shackles.

In September last year, Guangzhou citizen Yang Jiahao disclosed to The Epoch Times that because five unjust cases could not be resolved, he wrote to Xi Jinping and prepared to go to Beijing to appeal, but was given a red code and a seal by local stability maintenance officials. He had to cancel the ticket.

Netizens say too many people have fevers, and officials low-key acknowledge the COVID-19 epidemic

Many Weibo netizens left messages on the topic “#四川广东狠青码” on December 1, saying that there are too many people suffering from the disease and fever:

“There are a lot of (infections), so many, most of the children.”

“Ah, what are you doing? People are a bit confused in Sichuan. I really don’t want to do it again, but there are indeed a lot of people with fever around me these days.”

“Don’t worry… Now even if you give me money, it won’t help you prevent the epidemic. Just pay for the treatment yourself.”

“Unknown pneumonia” is spreading rapidly in China. From children to adults, the number of infections is rising rapidly. Hospitals everywhere are crowded with patients day and night.

The World Health Organization (WHO) last week asked China to provide further details about an increase in respiratory illnesses and cluster pneumonia in children; but then cited China’s statement that no new or unusual pathogens had been found in recent cases.

However, many international public health experts say it is difficult to trust any information from the CCP. Eric Feigl-Ding, a well-known Chinese epidemiology and public health expert in the United States, said on the X platform, “I heard many insiders tell me that government authorities told Chinese doctors not to report any numbers and not to test patients. Don’t report any tests either. This sounds eerily familiar.”

William Schaffner, a professor of infectious diseases at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Tennessee, is worried that China may have a new infectious agent, a new virus or possibly a new variant of the coronavirus.

On November 30, the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported that the number of infectious disease cases in Beijing exceeded 70,000 last week, doubling the number from the previous week. This number is believed to have been seriously underreported. In addition, officials said that a total of 16 notifiable infectious diseases have been reported, with the top two diseases being influenza and the new coronavirus.

The Chinese Communist Party’s official media has not focused on reporting on the COVID-19 epidemic so far. There are reports on the Internet that many hospitals’ pathogen tests on patients do not include COVID-19. Previously, a source close to the top leadership of the Chinese Communist Party told The Epoch Times that the leader of the Chinese Communist Party has clearly ordered that the media is not allowed to mention the “new crown”.
