It started with a good intention but apparently it did not please everyone. Netflix users hated seeing trailers launch automatically while viewing the programs homepage.
Netflix just added an option to replace these small video clips with a still image, making the consultation perfectly silent and with no other movement than your scrolling.
This option of “Automatic reading of overviews” is unchecked in the web interface of your account, in the section of profile management (explanations). Each profile can have its own setting. This change then immediately applies to all of your reading media.
And for the record, it is at this same location that you can prevent the sequence of playback between two episodes.
