It’s the big surprise of the day, arrived when no one was expecting it. This Friday, February 18, Netflix shared the first images of a documentary series scheduled for March 29 on the platform: Johnny by Johnny.
We are used to having news from beyond the grave of the Taulier. Because he may have left us, a sad December 5, 2017, but Johnny Hallyday remains omnipresent on the airwaves, where his voice continues to resound not only through his classics, but also some unpublished nuggets unearthed in the archives. Where we least expected it, however, is on Netflix.
This Friday, February 18, the streaming giant announced the (very) forthcoming release of a documentary series devoted to the idol of young people. Probably concocted in the greatest of secrets, this one will be precisely made up of 5 episodes and is intended as “an intimate portrait of the life and career of France’s greatest rock icon“, as presented Netflix. On social networks, the platform even unveiled its first images:

As you can see through this little trailer, the documentary series, soberly titled Johnny by Johnnywill hold its originality from the fact that it will be narrated by the singer himself. A nice magic trick that will certainly seduce fans, made possible thanks to old interviews in which the Taulier spoke about his career, both professional and personal.
Of course, the program will also draw its strength from the many archive images unearthed for the occasion, as evidenced once again by this teaser shared by Netflix this Friday. What to allow to dive both in the incredible career of Johnny Hallyday, and in particular his gigantic performances on stage, as in his intimacy. This is very promising. And the good news is that we won’t have to wait that long before we can discover this new documentary series: Johnny by Johnny will arrive on March 29, 2022 exclusively on Netflix!
