Netflix: 30-day free trial is over

Here is a small change in policy that Netflix has not communicated with, and which however may not go unnoticed: from now on, it is no longer possible to test the service for a month.

Cheap Netflix Subscription

Almost always, Netflix offers one month free subscription to those who wish to test its service. Enough to get a serious idea of the impressive catalog of series, films and reports offered by the video streaming site, without spending a single penny for 30 days. Then subscribe (or not) to the most suitable subscription plan. And also, for the cleverest, enough to watch as many episodes as possible during the trial period, and to unsubscribe as soon as it is over.

But then, all good things come to an end: in the utmost discretion, Netflix has just ended this trial period. To take advantage of the service, it will immediately cost between 7.99 and 15.99 euros, without having the means to experience the service for free.

Netflix ends trial without talking about it

This policy change, which Netflix has absolutely not communicated, concerns the France, but also the Belgium or even thereSpain. However, this change does not seem to affect the United States, at least not at the moment. The change is all the more unexpected since most of the competitors in France (OCS, Canal + Series, Amazon Prime Video, etc.) are still offering a trial period.

Netflix will also have a lot to do with the arrival of a strong competitor on March 24 in France: Disney +, which we were able to preview few months ago. The giant arrives with a well supplied catalog, since we will find there his old films, his series and his cartoons, but also original creations like The Mandalorian, the remake of The Lady and the Tramp and later in the year, Marvel series like WandaVision or The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. It is unknown whether Disney + will have a trial period in France, but remember that this is the case in the United States and the countries in which the service is already available.

A small consolation, however: Netflix offers subscribers to opt within 30 days for another formula than the one initially chosen, at no additional cost. If you have for example subscribed to the Essential offer at 7.99 euros, you can therefore test the Standard plan at 11.99 euros without paying more (you only pay 7.99 euros for the first 30 days).
