Neisser Loyola: good blood cannot lie

We bet, however, that this is only a postponement for a boy whose speech breathes ambition and who has something to hold on to. Belgian number 1, now 40th in the world, quadruple Belgian epee champion, Neisser Loyola is none other than the son of Nelson Loyola, team bronze medalist with Cuba at the Sydney Olympics in 2000. And like his father – born in the cradle of world fencing before emigrating to Belgium to teach his art there – Neisser, who enjoys the status of an elite athlete in the army, dreams of an Olympic medal. But before the Paris Games, scheduled for 2024, there will be other great deadlines. Like his first Worlds which will start in a few days in Cairo. With new exploits at stake?
