Neeleman accepts 55 million to leave TAP. Agreement only depends on Azul – aviacao

Businessman David Neeleman has agreed to receive 55 million euros to leave Atlantic Gateway, which owns 45% of TAP, a source close to the lawsuit told Business.

However, the Brazilian carrier Azul, which underwrote a bond issue of 90 million euros in 2016, still needs to accept the State’s proposal not to convert it into shares, which would give it 6% of TAP’s capital, maintaining this loan until to maturity, that is until 2026.

Negócios knows that a meeting is currently taking place with the Brazilian carrier, which was founded by David Neeleman, in order to reach a final agreement this Wednesday.

The agreement for Neeleman to leave Atlantic Gateway for 55 million has already been reached, it remains to be seen what percentage will be taken by the State and by Humberto Pedrosa, Neeleman’s partner at Atlantic Gateway.

As SIC advanced yesterday, the State was available to advance with 40 million, while Humberto Pedrosa would fit 15 million. However, these values are not yet closed.

On the table is the possibility for the State to raise its position to 70%, Humberto Pedrosa with 25%, while TAP workers continue with 5%.
