Necessary acceptance of the project for the construction of the 240-bed hospital in April 2023

TOUGGOURT – The Minister of Health, Abdelhak Saihi underlined, Thursday from Touggourt, the necessary reception of the construction project, in the capital of the wilaya, of the 240-bed hospital in April 2023.

Inspecting the construction sites of this hospital whose work has reached 97%, as part of a working visit to wilaya, the minister underlined the need to speed up the pace of work and to redouble efforts to allow the project to be delivered in April 2023.

Mr. Saihi highlighted the added value that this facility will bring to the Touggourt wilaya health system, given the resources mobilized to ensure a quality health service.

This hospital, which is a quintessential health center, will have all the necessary modern medical equipment and materials and will benefit from medical supervision in various specialties, he said.

Started in February 2012, the project to build this hospital suffered interruptions for technical and other reasons, which prevented it from being received on schedule (2017), he explained.

This three-story health facility includes a resuscitation and intensive care unit (18 beds), inpatient wards, an operating theater (6 rooms), a nephrology unit, diagnostic imaging and digital radiology, as well as a wing for functional rehabilitation and pharmacy, according to the technical data sheet of the project.

Responding to concerns from local elected officials about the state of the health sector in the wilaya, the minister mentioned the programs planned in the wilaya to improve the level of health services.

In this regard, he announced the registration of the project to create a paramedical training school to strengthen paramedical supervision at the level of health facilities in the wilaya, as well as the creation of a children’s hospital in Touggourt, the first of its kind in the South.

Mr. Saihi also said that Slimane-Amirat hospital will soon be equipped with a scanner.

The Minister of Health also insisted on the digitization of the sector as part of the modernization of the health system, inviting the heads of the sector in the wilaya to give greater interest to this aspect as it gives precision and speed in the management of patient records and allows optimal assistance.

Mr. Saihi also presided over the laying of the foundation stone of the project to build a 60-bed hospital in the municipality of Megarine. This three-story hospital, which will be completed in 24 months, will include vital health services, including a pediatric service (10 beds), a gynecology-obstetrics service (20 beds), an intensive care unit, a ward hemodialysis department, a radiology department and a surgery department.

The Minister concluded his visit with the inauguration of a 60-bed hospital in the city of El-Hadjira, where he called for the mobilization of all material and human resources to promote health care, particularly in remote regions.
