CDU clearly wins Schleswig-Holstein election
The CDU clearly won the state elections in Schleswig-Holstein. According to the latest extrapolation, Prime Minister Günther’s party has gained more than eleven percentage points and has reached 43.4 percent. The Greens also gained a good five points and, with 18.2 percent in the Kiel state parliament, are now stronger than the SPD – they achieved 16.0 percent; a minus of more than eleven points. Scholz: Germany continues to support Ukraine
Chancellor Scholz assures Ukraine of further German support. In a television speech, the SPD politician said that Germany would help so that the violence could come to an end. During an unannounced visit to Kyiv, Canada’s Prime Minister Trudeau pledged his country’s continued support for Ukraine. After talks with President Zelenskyy, Trudeau announced that he would continue to supply arms and military equipment.
