NCOI again on takeover path, now wants to incorporate Hogeschool Tio after LOI NOW

The private educational institution NCOI wants to take over Hogeschool Tio. For this, it has requested permission from the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM), reports the watchdog. NCOI also took over competitor LOI at the end of last year, although the ACM still has to approve that.

It is unknown how much NCOI pays for Hogeschool Tio.

Tio was established in the 1960s as a tourist information course. The university has nine branches in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Utrecht and Hengelo with around 2,000 students. According to The Financial Daily newspaper, that has an internal mail, Tio director Mark Duthler is leaving and the university will remain independent within NCOI.

The Netherlands Commercial Training Institute (NCOI) is now the largest private educational organization in the Netherlands. Earlier it already took a substantial minority interest in De Baak, a prestigious training institute in the field of management. It also bought the shares from Luzac, a private secondary education provider.

The NCOI was founded by entrepreneur Robert van Zanten.
