The National Basketball Association (NBA) has tightened the rules on resting players, says Sham Sharania.
According to his information, teams will not be allowed to rest two stars in one game. Players who have participated in the all-star game or entered the symbolic five in the last three seasons are considered stars.
NBA Board of Governors has approved new policy that a team is unable to rest two star players in the same game moving forward, multiple sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. A star is defined as someone who has made All-Star or All-NBA team in the past three seasons.

In recent years, player rest has been the subject of much discussion, often used in back-to-back matches where two consecutive days were to be played. On the other hand, the clubs used various tricks to rest the basketball players, the most popular of them was the alleged minor injury.
With this move, the NBA wants to avoid such situations, because without stars in the matches, television ratings suffer, and people who pay money for tickets are left disappointed.
