MOSCOW – Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke to the Russian Security Council to discuss the latest developments in Russia’s special operations in Ukraine.

Putin announced on February 24, 2022 that Russia was carrying out special military operations in Ukraine to defend the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republic (DPR and LPR) from attacks by Ukrainian forces.

The war between Russia and Ukraine raged fiercely with rapid progress achieved by the freedom fighters of the DPR and LPR with the support of the Moscow military.

“Today we will discuss the progress of special military operations in Ukraine,” said Putin opening his speech on Friday (25/2/2022), reported by Sputnik.

He explained, “The main clashes of the Russian Army, as expected, took place not with the regular units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but with the nationalist formations, which, as you know, were directly responsible for the genocide in the Donbass and the bloodshed of civilians in the people’s republic. .”

“In addition, the nationalist elements embedded in the regular units of Ukraine not only incite them to carry out armed resistance, but, in fact, play the role of blocking the units,” Putin said.
