[디지털데일리 이나연 기자] Naver will donate 30 billion won over three years to Seoul National University Hospital to support research in the digital bio field. This is the largest donation of a single research support fund in the history of donations to Seoul National University Hospital.
Naver (CEO Choi Soo-yeon) announced on the 18th that related officials from both sides, including Naver CEO Choi Soo-yeon and Seoul National University Hospital Director Kim Young-tae, attended the donation agreement ceremony held in the first meeting room of the Seoul National University Hospital Daehan Clinic the afternoon before.
Through this donation, Naver plans to support Seoul National University Hospital’s innovative and challenging digital bio research, contributing to the development of medical scientists and future medicine. Seoul National University Hospital plans to establish a research-oriented hospital culture by using Naver funds to create conditions for researchers to immerse themselves in research and manage the results.
Choi Soo-yeon, CEO of Naver, said, “As the digital transformation of the medical field is expected to accelerate globally with the advent of super-giant artificial intelligence (AI) technology, we sympathize with the social necessity of fostering talented doctors and scientists and preemptive convergence research.” As university hospitals have the best human resources and research infrastructure in Korea, we expect to achieve world-class research achievements and commercialization.”
