NATO Still Opens Doors for Ukraine, Stupid Russia

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Government Russia don’t mind the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) which says the door remains open for Ukraine if you want to join.

“The statement made by the Secretary General of NATO, John Stoltenberg, I still don’t understand. It doesn’t interest us,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a press conference on Wednesday (16/2), quoted by Reuters. TASS.

Zakharova then said, “He is not someone whose statements are taken as serious arguments in Moscow. He is already NATO.”

Ukraine is known to have decided to cancel its long-standing desire to join NATO in order to defuse the crisis.

However, he remains hopeful that constructive talks with the United States and NATO on security guarantees will continue.

“This issue (the crisis in Ukraine and Russia) requires a deep and substantive dialogue. Or it will be the same conversation as with the British Foreign Secretary in Moscow: dialogue between the mute and the deaf aka nothing,” continued Zakharova.

Stakeholders, he continued, should listen to each other instead of giving talks or making blank statements.

“It’s just a waste of time instead of respecting each other’s concerns,” said Zakharova.

Previously, the Secretary General of NATO, John Stoltenberg, said he would keep the door open for Ukraine if one day it wants to join a military alliance.

“NATO strongly believes all countries have the right to choose their own path and NATO’s door remains open,” Stoltenberg said when asked about the possibility of Ukraine joining the press conference. Sunday Evening on Tuesday (15/2).

He also welcomed Moscow’s desire for dialogue to address Europe’s most serious security crisis in decades.

Russia, according to him, is not too late to step back and choose the path of peace.

“NATO is not a threat to Russia,” Stoltenberg said.

The military alliance also said allies welcome Russia’s diplomatic efforts and negotiations should continue.
