Nationwide rail strike: These trains in the north are still running

There has been a rail strike in Germany since Monday night. Lower Saxony and Bremen are also affected. Which trains are still running?

Hanover – The Union of German Locomotive Drivers (GDL) has called for another strike at Deutsche Bahn: “We went on strike at two o’clock in the morning,” said a spokesman for the GDL. Deutsche Bahn passengers have to be prepared for significant train cancellations and delays on Monday and Tuesday. A new timetable also applies in Lower Saxony and Bremen.

At the start of the strike, the situation at the train stations in Lower Saxony, Bremen, Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg remained calm, said a spokeswoman for Deutsche Bahn. Apparently, the passengers would have adjusted to the train cancellations. The number of people at train stations was therefore significantly reduced compared to other assemblies. “We have also prepared ourselves as well as possible,” said the spokeswoman.

Rail strike: Metronome between Bremen and Hamburg not affected

Overall, however, 75 percent of all long-distance trains nationwide were canceled for the strike time, and regional traffic is also badly affected. Competitors of Deutsche Bahn would not be on strike. The hourly metronome between Bremen and Hamburg, for example, is not affected by the restrictions.

Nevertheless, the railway wants to provide a basic range of local and long-distance trains over the two-day strike. Here is the Replacement timetable for Hamburg.

Engine drivers strike in Lower Saxony and Bremen: freight traffic has been on strike since Saturday

The union has been on strike nationwide since Saturday afternoon. The members of the GDL are on strike for higher salaries and better working conditions. A corona bonus of 600 euros and 3.2 percent more money within two stages are also among the demands of the GDL.

Although Deutsche Bahn had already offered its employees a bonus, the union rejected it and described the offer as an attempt at deception. * Kreiszeitung.de and 24hamburg.de are offers from IPPEN.MEDIA.
